POSTER DESIGN

In the campaign for the OPA evening Swipe away the heartache, emojify the pain, a pictorial essay of mobile phone masts within a radius of 500 metres of our studio took centre stage. The campaign was designed for an evening about changes in privacy and social structures due to, among other things, the arrival of the smartphone and the accompanying technology. A transition that mainly takes place online. We have made a pictorial essay of the masts, because these are actually physically highly traceable monuments to the transition. And also because they are fascinating anonymous objects that are hidden everywhere in the cityscape like some kind of spies.

We located the pylons via the website www.gsmmasten.nl. Then we took our cameras and set off. Since then, it has become a bit of a sport – wherever we are, we’re always spotting mobile phone masts.
