FASCINATED BY ALL THE FREELY AVAILABLE INFORMATION ON SELF-DIAGNOSIS AND THE REMEDY OF AILMENTS, WE USED GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE TO FIND VIDEOS AND COMPILE A DIY HEALTH ENCYCLOPAEDIA BASED ON THE INFORMATION.
Healthcare is expensive, but a lot of knowledge is free. Fascinated by all the freely available information on self-diagnosis and the remedy of ailments, we used Google and YouTube to find videos and compile a DIY health encyclopaedia based on the information. For example, there are videos on how to make your own teeth from Fimo clay, remove blisters with a paperclip, or make your own sun block from butter.
The encyclopaedia is divided into different chapters linked to the various topics of YouTube videos. We downloaded all fonts from the internet free of charge and produced the publication via print on demand. A paracetamol has been incorporated into the back (should all the YouTube videos fail to provide a solution).
The DIY Health encyclopaedia is both an ode to public knowledge 2.0 and a painfully tangible document on accessible healthcare worldwide.
